Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is an evidence-based treatment which explores the interconnections between your thoughts, feelings, behaviours, and physical sensations. Specific strategies are used to understand, and modify your thinking patterns and behaviours.
Strategies may include behavioural exposures, thought records, and relaxation approaches.
The main goal of ACT is to help individuals develop psychological flexibility, which involves being open, present, and engaged with the present moment, and taking actions guided by personal values. ACT incorporates elements of mindfulness, acceptance, and behavior change strategies to help individuals create a rich and meaningful life, even in the presence of difficult thoughts, feelings, and experiences.
Dialectical Behavioural Therapy
Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) is an evidence-based treatment originally designed for people struggling to regulate their emotions, such as those with Borderline Personality Disorder. DBT, like CBT, has its roots in behaviourism, with a focus on understanding our behavioural patterns. For people who struggle to regulate their emotions, DBT effectively integrates specific strategies such as distress tolerance, emotion regulation, interpersonal effectiveness, and mindfulness.
Person-Centered Therapy
In Person-Centered Therapy, the therapist takes on a supportive and facilitative role rather than a directive one. Rather than providing advice or interpretations, the therapist encourages clients to explore their own thoughts, feelings, and experiences at their own pace. The therapist trusts in the client's capacity for self-understanding and growth, believing that clients are the experts on their own lives.
MBCT integrates mindfulness practices such as meditation, body awareness, and mindful breathing with aspects of cognitive therapy, which focuses on changing negative thought patterns and beliefs.
The primary goal of MBCT is to teach individuals to become more aware of their thoughts and feelings without judgment, and to develop a different relationship with them.
Emotional Focused Therapy
The core principle of EFT is that emotions are central to human experience and relationships. EFT focuses on helping individuals and couples identify and understand their emotions, particularly those related to attachment needs and relationship patterns. By recognizing and expressing their emotions in a safe therapeutic environment, clients can develop greater emotional awareness, intimacy, and connection with their partners.
Our prices range from $180 - $250 per hour
